1. Information we collect

• Account: username, display name, password hash, optional email and avatar
• Message content: text, images, files and audio you send, routed to the intended conversation
• Device info: push token (only to deliver notifications)
• Access logs: IP, timestamps, error traces (kept for up to 30 days for troubleshooting)

2. How we use it

Only to provide and improve the messaging service, keep it safe, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Encryption & transport

All requests use HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes.

4. Infrastructure & third parties

We now self-host our entire infrastructure — the database (PostgreSQL), application servers, media storage, and voice/video call relays all run on our own servers (a primary node in the US plus a Hong Kong edge), with no third-party cloud platform. We keep only the third parties strictly necessary to deliver notifications and distribute the app:

• Expo push service (delivering notifications via Apple APNs and Google FCM)
• Expo / EAS (app builds and OTA update distribution)

5. Your rights

Under "Me → Delete account" you can permanently delete your account and data. All associated messages and personal information are removed within 7 days.

6. Children

This service is not directed to children under 13. Any such account will be removed upon discovery.

7. Changes

Updates are reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be announced in-app.
